When the Sky Held Its Breath

$6,048.00

On the eve of the catastrophic August 2016 flood, the wetlands held their breath beneath a sky splitting open with fire and shadow. Pelicans carved through the heavy air as cypress sentinels braced against the quickly approaching storm, and the last light flared defiantly across Lake Arthur’s darkening water. This painting captures that charged, unforgettable moment—beauty standing its ground before the storm reshaped South Louisiana.

It is 40 x 30, 1.5 depth, gallery wrap style with painted sides

Description

When the Sky Held Its Breath captures the charged stillness before the world changes — that suspended moment when the horizon tightens, the air thickens, and even the pelicans seem to understand what is coming. Painted from a photograph taken late in the day when South Louisiana braced beneath a brilliant, foreboding sky, this piece holds the tension between beauty and danger. Light flares like a warning, color gathers like a heartbeat, and the wetlands stand quietly beneath a sky that knows more than it can say.

It is 40 x 30, 1.5  depth, gallery wrap style with painted sides

Elk in forest oil painting

Arts & Crafts
$1,800.00
Where the Mountains Hide Their Faces - There is a solemn beauty in the way the wilderness holds its secrets. The elk moves with a kind of ancient patience, stepping through the cold as though it understands the hidden rhythms of the land. Three Voices in the Quiet

Arts & Crafts
$700.00
There is a peacefulness woven through the scene, a sense that the forest itself has paused to listen. The birds’ soft colors rise against the snowy branches like small lanterns of life, each one adding its own note to the quiet harmony of winter. The holly’s red berries echo the warmth of Holiday traditions, while the muted sky carries the promise of a night filled with calm and comfort. In this painting, the season is not loud or grand — it is intimate, heartfelt, and carried gently on the wings of three tiny voices. This is 14" by 11".  Original will come in a floating frame. Wetland landscape fine art painting

Arts & Crafts
$6,000.00
Where the Atchafalaya Breathes - There is a sacred beauty in watching the bear reclaim its place among the waterways and winding forests of the Atchafalaya. The wetlands hold its story gently — not a tale of disappearance, but of resilience, protection, and the long patience of a species waiting for its future to brighten. Conservationists, communities, and the land itself worked together to ensure the bear’s voice would not fade from Louisiana’s wild chorus. Today, its presence feels like a blessing woven into the Basin’s tapestry of life, a reminder that when people honor the wild, the wild remembers how to thrive.
