Pelicans and Storm Clouds – large, framed stretched canvas print (jury selected piece)

$400.00

Original oil painting sold.  The price shown is for a framed print on canvas.  –  This is a jury selected piece.  On the eve of the catastrophic August 2016 flood, the wetlands held their breath beneath a sky splitting open with fire and shadow. Pelicans carved through the heavy air as cypress sentinels braced against the quickly approaching storm, and the last light flared defiantly across Lake Arthur’s darkening water. This painting captures that charged, unforgettable moment—beauty standing its ground before the storm reshaped South Louisiana.

It is 40 x 30, .75 depth, framed in simple wood, stretched canvas print, if you prefer a 1.5″ gallery wrapped style, contact artist.  Any version or any size, 40 x 30 or smaller is available.  Pricing will vary for smaller versions.  Contact artist for special orders.

Description

When the Sky Held Its Breath captures the charged stillness before the world changes — that suspended moment when the horizon tightens, the air thickens, and even the pelicans seem to understand what is coming. Painted from a photograph taken late in the day when South Louisiana braced beneath a brilliant, foreboding sky, this piece holds the tension between beauty and danger. Light flares like a warning, color gathers like a heartbeat, and the wetlands stand quietly beneath a sky that knows more than it can say.

Christmas Chicadees – Framed Canvas Print

Arts & Crafts
$200.00
There is a peacefulness woven through the scene, a sense that the forest itself has paused to listen. The holly’s red berries echo the warmth of Holiday traditions, while the muted sky carries the promise of a night filled with calm and comfort. In this painting, the season is not loud or grand — it is intimate, heartfelt, and carried gently on the wings of three tiny voices. This is 14" by 11" and will come in a floating frame. Endangered Species – Canvas Print Triptych Set

Arts & Crafts
$500.00
Original oil painting triptych sold.  The price shown is for a triptych print set on canvas (three separate framed prints). -  The first whooping crane hatchling born in Louisiana since 1938 is more than a milestone; it is a breath restored to a story that nearly ended. In this triptych, the cranes move through light and marshland like living prayers, each panel holding a chapter of a species’ long journey back from silence. The tiny hatchling—once front‑page news, once unthinkable—becomes the heart of the piece, a symbol of resilience so delicate it feels almost holy. This painting doesn’t just honor the moment; it preserves the hope that rose from the marsh after seventy-eight years, reminding us that even the rarest lives can return when land, patience, and love make room for them. Fall Blue Jay – Framed Canvas Print (Jury Selected Piece)

Arts & Crafts
$200.00
In The Autumn Sentinel, the blue jay rises like a bright, defiant note against the warm hush of fall. Perched among leaves that burn in shades of ember and gold, it stands alert, as if guarding the last color before winter claims the branches. The soft green field and pale sky behind it create a gentle contrast, allowing the bird’s vivid blues to feel almost ceremonial. This is a moment of stillness and pride — a stately creature holding its place in the turning season. This is 11" by 14", 1.5" and will come in a floating frame. Fall Season Redheaded Woodpecker – Framed Canvas Print

Arts & Crafts
$250.00
Original painting sold.  Price is for a canvas print in a frame. - At 18 by 22 inches, the painting holds an intimacy that invites the viewer closer, as if stepping into the hush of that late‑season afternoon. The colors settle gently across the panel, gathering in soft layers that echo the quiet dignity of the scene. The woodpecker’s bright crown becomes a single note of courage against the mellow drift of pumpkins and leaves, a reminder that even the smallest creatures carry their own rituals of watchfulness. In this scale, every detail feels personal — the weathered grain of the fence, the tender glow of the harvest, the poised stillness of the bird — all working together to honor the fragile beauty of autumn’s last, lingering breath. Stillness Under the Driftwood – Framed Canvas Print

Arts & Crafts
$300.00
Stillness Under the Driftwood - Tucked beneath the shelter of a fallen log, a young raccoon pauses in the quiet rhythm of the forest.
