Afternoon deer by stream – canvas print

Where the Atchafalaya Breathes - Original oil painting sold.  The price is for a gallery wrapped canvas print.  (Jury selected for participation in the Kit Gilbert Juried Showcase) - There is a sacred beauty in watching the bear reclaim its place among the waterways and winding forests of the Atchafalaya. The wetlands hold its story gently — not a tale of disappearance, but of resilience, protection, and the long patience of a species waiting for its future to brighten. Conservationists, communities, and the land itself worked together to ensure the bear’s voice would not fade from Louisiana’s wild chorus. Today, its presence feels like a blessing woven into the Basin’s tapestry of life, a reminder that when people honor the wild, the wild remembers how to thrive. Boomer  - Oil on canvas.  Original sold, price is for a framed canvas print.  There are dogs who simply share our homes, and then there are dogs who share our lives. Boomer was the latter — a Springer Spaniel with a gaze that could quiet a room and a spirit that moved with equal parts devotion and mischief. In this portrait, his expressive brown eyes become the focal point, drawing the viewer into a moment of connection that feels both intimate and enduring. Painted in 2015, the piece blends realism with a softly impressionistic landscape, allowing Boomer’s presence to rise from a world of color and memory. The textured brushwork in his black‑and‑white coat reflects the tactile truth of a beloved companion, while the rolling hills and luminous sky behind him echo the joy and freedom he carried wherever he went. It is 18 x 24, 1  depth, framed, stretched canvas print Signed Canvas or Paper Prints Available, Contact Artist for more information. mary@maryspaintings.com

Original painting sold.  Price is for a canvas print in a frame. - At 18 by 22 inches, the painting holds an intimacy that invites the viewer closer, as if stepping into the hush of that late‑season afternoon. The colors settle gently across the panel, gathering in soft layers that echo the quiet dignity of the scene. The woodpecker’s bright crown becomes a single note of courage against the mellow drift of pumpkins and leaves, a reminder that even the smallest creatures carry their own rituals of watchfulness. In this scale, every detail feels personal — the weathered grain of the fence, the tender glow of the harvest, the poised stillness of the bird — all working together to honor the fragile beauty of autumn’s last, lingering breath. The painting will come wrapped in a matching floating frame. Signed Canvas or Paper Prints Available, Contact Artist for more information. mary@maryspaintings.com

Where Hope is Buried - jury selected piece, recognized for its evocative storytelling and conservation-centered theme. A mother sea turtle returns to the water in the fading gold of day, her silhouette softened by the last warmth of the sun. Behind her, beneath the sand she has shaped with ancient care, rests a hidden cradle of tomorrow. She leaves no marker, no sign—only trust in the rhythm that has guided her kind for millions of years. In her slow retreat, there is both exhaustion and triumph. Every step toward the waves is a testament to endurance, to instinct older than memory, to a lineage fighting to survive in a world that grows harsher each season. All sea turtles are endangered, yet she moves with the quiet certainty of one who still believes in the possibility of return—of hatchlings rising from the sand, of small lives finding the ocean’s embrace.
