Afternoon deer by stream – canvas print

Original oil painting triptych sold.  The price shown is for a triptych print set on canvas (three separate framed prints). -  The first whooping crane hatchling born in Louisiana since 1938 is more than a milestone; it is a breath restored to a story that nearly ended. In this triptych, the cranes move through light and marshland like living prayers, each panel holding a chapter of a species’ long journey back from silence. The tiny hatchling—once front‑page news, once unthinkable—becomes the heart of the piece, a symbol of resilience so delicate it feels almost holy. This painting doesn’t just honor the moment; it preserves the hope that rose from the marsh after seventy-eight years, reminding us that even the rarest lives can return when land, patience, and love make room for them. In Leviathan’s Gaze, an alligator cuts upward like a blade of ancient hunger, a slow rise of something that remembers the world before fear had a name. The water trembles around him as if it knows who rules its depths, and in that brief, shuddering moment, you feel the weight of a creature that does not simply watch—he judges and waits. The soft whites and greens gather around his bright red form like a circle of calm, letting his vivid heart shine without strain. In this stillness, the bird becomes a symbol of hope carried lightly — a reminder that even the smallest presence can brighten a weary day. The scene feels like a blessing whispered in color, a gentle assurance that beauty endures, even in the tender spaces where light and emotion meet.14" by 14"  Sold in a floating frame mary@maryspaintings.com

There is a sense of watchfulness woven through this scene, a gentle tension between the hush of winter and the bright intelligence of the jay. Its vivid blues rise like a small flame against the pale air, offering a reminder that even in the quietest months, life continues with purpose. The pine branch becomes a stage for resilience, the snow a soft veil over the forest’s secrets. In this painting, the bird is not merely observed — it is honored, a sentinel of the woods who carries the stories that winter keeps close.
