Leviathan’s Cove – Canvas Prints Available

Where the Atchafalaya Breathes - Original oil painting sold.  The price is for a gallery wrapped canvas print.  (Jury selected for participation in the Kit Gilbert Juried Showcase) - There is a sacred beauty in watching the bear reclaim its place among the waterways and winding forests of the Atchafalaya. The wetlands hold its story gently — not a tale of disappearance, but of resilience, protection, and the long patience of a species waiting for its future to brighten. Conservationists, communities, and the land itself worked together to ensure the bear’s voice would not fade from Louisiana’s wild chorus. Today, its presence feels like a blessing woven into the Basin’s tapestry of life, a reminder that when people honor the wild, the wild remembers how to thrive. Where Hope is Buried - jury selected piece, recognized for its evocative storytelling and conservation-centered theme. A mother sea turtle returns to the water in the fading gold of day, her silhouette softened by the last warmth of the sun. Behind her, beneath the sand she has shaped with ancient care, rests a hidden cradle of tomorrow. She leaves no marker, no sign—only trust in the rhythm that has guided her kind for millions of years. In her slow retreat, there is both exhaustion and triumph. Every step toward the waves is a testament to endurance, to instinct older than memory, to a lineage fighting to survive in a world that grows harsher each season. All sea turtles are endangered, yet she moves with the quiet certainty of one who still believes in the possibility of return—of hatchlings rising from the sand, of small lives finding the ocean’s embrace. Specs: 24" by 18", 1.5" deep, gallery wrap style, painted sides. Signed Canvas or Paper Prints Available, Contact Artist for more information. mary@maryspaintings.com

In this painting, sunflowers rise like small suns above a weathered garden fence, their golden faces catching every warm shimmer of daylight. Purple blossoms weave through the scene, creating a soft harmony of color where two chickadees pause in gentle companionship. The clear blue sky opens wide behind them, giving the whole moment a feeling of ease and simple happiness — a place where light lingers, blooms listen, and joy settles softly into the day. It is 10" x 20" and will be wrapped in a matching floating frame. mary@maryspaintings.com
