Where the Marsh Remembers

$2,400.00

The first whooping crane hatchling born in Louisiana since 1938 is more than a milestone; it is a breath restored to a story that nearly ended. In this triptych, the cranes move through light and marshland like living prayers, each panel holding a chapter of a species’ long journey back from silence. The tiny hatchling—once front‑page news, once unthinkable—becomes the heart of the piece, a symbol of resilience so delicate it feels almost holy. This painting doesn’t just honor the moment; it preserves the hope that rose from the marsh after eighty‑three years, reminding us that even the rarest lives can return when land, patience, and love make room for them.

Description

Where the Marsh Remembers – In this triptych, the marsh becomes a cradle for a story nearly lost to time. The whooping cranes, the most critically endangered bird on the planet, stand like living testaments to endurance, their white wings bright against the wetlands that once fell silent without them. And at the heart of it all, the hatchling—small, vulnerable, impossibly brave—embodies the return of a hope that waited eighty‑three years to rise again. This painting holds that moment gently, as if aware of its sacredness, reminding us that sometimes the rarest miracles arrive quietly, carried on the wings of those who refuse to disappear.

This triptych is of three paintings sold as a set, each is 20″ by 10″.  It is a painting of the first successful whooping crane hatchling in Louisiana since 1938.

Boomer

Arts & Crafts
$1,500.00
Boomer  - Oil on canvas:  There are dogs who simply share our homes, and then there are dogs who share our lives. Boomer was the latter — a Springer Spaniel with a gaze that could quiet a room and a spirit that moved with equal parts devotion and mischief. In this portrait, his expressive brown eyes become the focal point, drawing the viewer into a moment of connection that feels both intimate and enduring. Painted in 2015, the piece blends realism with a softly impressionistic landscape, allowing Boomer’s presence to rise from a world of color and memory. The textured brushwork in his black‑and‑white coat reflects the tactile truth of a beloved companion, while the rolling hills and luminous sky behind him echo the joy and freedom he carried wherever he went. It is 18 x 24, 1  depth, framed in a matching floating frame. Signed Canvas or Paper Prints Available, Contact Artist for more information. mary@maryspaintings.com

Eagle oil painting original

Arts & Crafts
$1,800.00
In Where the Mountains Keep Watch, the wilderness gathers around a single cabin tucked beneath towering pines, as if the land itself has chosen to shelter it. The river moves with a soft, steady glow, carrying reflections of sky and timber like whispered stories of the valley. Above it all, the mountains rise in their ancient stillness — vast, unmoving sentinels whose presence can be felt even through the haze that softens their faces. The eagle’s wide arc becomes a blessing over the scene, a reminder that the wild sees everything, remembers everything, and holds its own quiet counsel. Elk in forest oil painting

Arts & Crafts
$1,800.00
Where the Mountains Hide Their Faces - There is a solemn beauty in the way the wilderness holds its secrets. The elk moves with a kind of ancient patience, stepping through the cold as though it understands the hidden rhythms of the land. The pond, dark and half‑frozen, reflects only hints of the world above it, mirroring the mystery of the mountains themselves. In this moment, the forest becomes a cathedral of winter, the creature a lone pilgrim, and the unseen peaks a reminder that some truths are felt long before they are seen.
