Christmas Chicadees – Framed Canvas Print

Where the Mountains Hide Their Faces - There is a solemn beauty in the way the wilderness holds its secrets. The elk moves with a kind of ancient patience, stepping through the cold as though it understands the hidden rhythms of the land. The pond, dark and half‑frozen, reflects only hints of the world above it, mirroring the mystery of the mountains themselves. In this moment, the forest becomes a cathedral of winter, the creature a lone pilgrim, and the unseen peaks a reminder that some truths are felt long before they are seen. Original painting sold.  Price is for a canvas print in a frame. - At 18 by 22 inches, the painting holds an intimacy that invites the viewer closer, as if stepping into the hush of that late‑season afternoon. The colors settle gently across the panel, gathering in soft layers that echo the quiet dignity of the scene. The woodpecker’s bright crown becomes a single note of courage against the mellow drift of pumpkins and leaves, a reminder that even the smallest creatures carry their own rituals of watchfulness. In this scale, every detail feels personal — the weathered grain of the fence, the tender glow of the harvest, the poised stillness of the bird — all working together to honor the fragile beauty of autumn’s last, lingering breath. The painting will come wrapped in a matching floating frame. Signed Canvas or Paper Prints Available, Contact Artist for more information. mary@maryspaintings.com

Where Hope is Buried - jury selected piece, recognized for its evocative storytelling and conservation-centered theme. A mother sea turtle returns to the water in the fading gold of day, her silhouette softened by the last warmth of the sun. Behind her, beneath the sand she has shaped with ancient care, rests a hidden cradle of tomorrow. She leaves no marker, no sign—only trust in the rhythm that has guided her kind for millions of years. In her slow retreat, there is both exhaustion and triumph. Every step toward the waves is a testament to endurance, to instinct older than memory, to a lineage fighting to survive in a world that grows harsher each season. All sea turtles are endangered, yet she moves with the quiet certainty of one who still believes in the possibility of return—of hatchlings rising from the sand, of small lives finding the ocean’s embrace. Specs: 24" by 18", 1.5" deep, gallery wrap style, painted sides. Signed Canvas or Paper Prints Available, Contact Artist for more information. mary@maryspaintings.com

There is a sense of watchfulness woven through this scene, a gentle tension between the hush of winter and the bright intelligence of the jay. Its vivid blues rise like a small flame against the pale air, offering a reminder that even in the quietest months, life continues with purpose. The pine branch becomes a stage for resilience, the snow a soft veil over the forest’s secrets. In this painting, the bird is not merely observed — it is honored, a sentinel of the woods who carries the stories that winter keeps close. Price is for a 14" by 14" canvas print in a floating frame. mary@maryspaintings.com
