Elk in forest oil painting

Where the Atchafalaya Breathes - Original oil painting sold.  The price is for a gallery wrapped canvas print.  (Jury selected for participation in the Kit Gilbert Juried Showcase) - There is a sacred beauty in watching the bear reclaim its place among the waterways and winding forests of the Atchafalaya. The wetlands hold its story gently — not a tale of disappearance, but of resilience, protection, and the long patience of a species waiting for its future to brighten. Conservationists, communities, and the land itself worked together to ensure the bear’s voice would not fade from Louisiana’s wild chorus. Today, its presence feels like a blessing woven into the Basin’s tapestry of life, a reminder that when people honor the wild, the wild remembers how to thrive. In The Autumn Sentinel, the blue jay rises like a bright, defiant note against the warm hush of fall. Perched among leaves that burn in shades of ember and gold, it stands alert, as if guarding the last color before winter claims the branches. The soft green field and pale sky behind it create a gentle contrast, allowing the bird’s vivid blues to feel almost ceremonial. This is a moment of stillness and pride — a stately creature holding its place in the turning season. This is 11" by 14", 1.5" and will come in a floating frame. Jury selected for display in Awesome Autumn 2026 KBM Art Gallery Hollywood Signed Paper Prints Available, Contact Artist for more information. mary@maryspaintings.com

Where the Sky Remembers - framed stretched canvas print.  There is a sacred calm in the way evening settles over the Basin country, a hush that carries the weight of seasons, storms, and the enduring spirit of South Louisiana. The colors drift across the horizon like a soft benediction, reminding us that even in a world marked by change, there are moments of pure, unbroken grace. In this painting, the lake becomes a keeper of light, the sky a keeper of memory, and the whole scene a tribute to the landscapes that have shaped generations. It is a love letter to Louisiana — its waters, its skies, cormorants nesting in the cypress trees and the quiet strength that lives in Southern Louisiana.
