Pelicans and Storm Clouds – large, framed stretched canvas print (jury selected piece)

There is a peacefulness woven through the scene, a sense that the forest itself has paused to listen. The birds’ soft colors rise against the snowy branches like small lanterns of life, each one adding its own note to the quiet harmony of winter. The holly’s red berries echo the warmth of Holiday traditions, while the muted sky carries the promise of a night filled with calm and comfort. In this painting, the season is not loud or grand — it is intimate, heartfelt, and carried gently on the wings of three tiny voices. This is 14" by 11" and will come in a floating frame. Boomer  - Oil on canvas.  Original sold, price is for a framed canvas print.  There are dogs who simply share our homes, and then there are dogs who share our lives. Boomer was the latter — a Springer Spaniel with a gaze that could quiet a room and a spirit that moved with equal parts devotion and mischief. In this portrait, his expressive brown eyes become the focal point, drawing the viewer into a moment of connection that feels both intimate and enduring. Painted in 2015, the piece blends realism with a softly impressionistic landscape, allowing Boomer’s presence to rise from a world of color and memory. The textured brushwork in his black‑and‑white coat reflects the tactile truth of a beloved companion, while the rolling hills and luminous sky behind him echo the joy and freedom he carried wherever he went. It is 18 x 24, 1  depth, framed, stretched canvas print Signed Canvas or Paper Prints Available, Contact Artist for more information. mary@maryspaintings.com

In Where the Wildflowers Listen, dawn unfolds like a whispered promise across the marsh, touching each petal and feather with its first tender glow. The bluebird perched on the weathered post seems to pause in perfect stillness, as if listening to the soft rustle of blooms waking in the early light. Water gathers the sky’s pale gold, hills rest in muted calm, and the whole landscape feels suspended in a moment where nature speaks only in hushes and the heart instinctively understands. It is 20 x 10, and will come wrapped in a matching floating frame. mary@maryspaintings.com

There is a sense of watchfulness woven through this scene, a gentle tension between the hush of winter and the bright intelligence of the jay. Its vivid blues rise like a small flame against the pale air, offering a reminder that even in the quietest months, life continues with purpose. The pine branch becomes a stage for resilience, the snow a soft veil over the forest’s secrets. In this painting, the bird is not merely observed — it is honored, a sentinel of the woods who carries the stories that winter keeps close. Price is for a 14" by 14" canvas print in a floating frame. mary@maryspaintings.com
